In 2017 the Las Vegas Lights became the first professional football club to play in Las Vegas since 1979 with the club bringing in an average attendance of 8000 in a city known for its night life with the Lights making entertainment on and off the field a priority. The Lights are part of an ever growing sports scene in the city with the Vegas Golden Knights making the Stanley Cup finals in their inaugural season in the NHL, along with the Oakland Raiders soon to be relocating to the city by the 2020 NFL season.
